Salmon and Lake Trout are the main targets in Elk Rapids, with King Salmon starting to appear as we approach late spring. The fishing action has been steady, particularly early in the morning when the fish are actively feeding. Coho Salmon are also being caught in the 30-60 ft range, particularly around drop-offs and near river mouths.

Trolling with spoons and flasher-fly combinations has been the most effective method, with anglers reporting good success around 40-50 ft of water.
